Dental Implants

Technology, Precision and Every Stage Of Your Dental Implant Treatment Is Performed Onsite In Our Brighton Dental Practice

Dental Implants are a permanent solution to tooth loss

...and can truly change your life

Dental Implants restore and support lost bone as well as aid in your ability to eat again.

We're all familiar with dentures as a solution to missing teeth - but they also come with their own issues. Even if perfect-fitting dentures are found, gum irritation and exposed nerve pain can become problems from having a removable, non-fixed appliance in your mouth. A fixed solution like dental implants bypasses all of these common issues, along with some of the embarrassment that can come with denture use.

Dental implants provide a means to replace either one tooth or several missing teeth, so that your mouth can be restored to look, feel and function normally again, just as it always had.

The dental implants are a small screw like bolt which medically fuse to your jawbone (osseointegration) to create a secure, safe and long-term foundation for a new tooth.

Once the healing process has occurred the bolt can then be used as an anchor for a "replacement tooth".

Dental Implants - "a second chance with missing teeth"

A dental implant can help you if:

  • You have lost teeth as the result of an accident or trauma injury

  • If you wear dentures which you find loose and uncomfortable and have difficulty chewing

  • You have lost teeth from breakdown or disease

  • You have lost a single tooth and want a single tooth implant rather than a bridge appliance.

  • You are now wearing a partial or full denture, and would prefer a fixed bridge or fixed- appliance.

  • You currently have no solution in place for your missing tooth or teeth and want a permanent replacement that will look and feel like your natural teeth.

Dr Fraser is professionally trained in computer-guided
dental implant surgery.

A precise solution, guided dental implant surgery uses a 3D CT scan of your jaw and a 3D printed template to help accurately implant the replacement tooth.

Whether it's complete arch replacement or simply a single tooth fitting, the cutting-edge equipment used at Teeth Mouth Smile helps create the best outcomes for your smile.

Dental implants can be used to ...

Replace a Single Tooth

If you are missing a single tooth, one implant replaces the root to which a crown is secured on top.

Replace Several Teeth

If you are missing several teeth, an implant-supported bridge can replace them. Dental implants will replace some of the roots so that they can hold a porcelain bridge in place.

Replace All of Your Teeth

If you are missing all of your teeth, an implant-supported full arch denture can replace them. Dental implants replace some of the missing roots so that there is a fixture to secure your denture to- creating a stable base

Dental implant technology....

was developed more than 30 years ago and is now the best and most common way to have a missing tooth replaced.

Not only does the dental implant help prevent future loss of bone, but it won't cause any damage to surrounding teeth. The final result will look so natural that you wouldn't know that the real tooth was missing. Dental implants help to ensure the long term health of your remaining teeth, as the only major work occurs at the site of the missing tooth and doesn't impact on neighbouring teeth.

Dr Fraser has undergone extensive training in implant surgical procedures and has been placing implants for many years now, following expert training in the area of dental implant surgery. Implant treatments require a few steps over a number of appointments - all of which are performed onsite by Dr Fraser in our dedicated  Brighton dental practice- so there is no need for extensive travel to multiple locations across Melbourne for different stages of your care.

We have a dedicated Cone Beam Xray Unit which is necessary for 3D dental implant placement guidance and initial planning of the ideal treatment process for you. Dr Fraser is also trained in sinus lifts and ridge augmentations which are sometimes necessary procedures prior to dental implant placements.

Which dental implant is right for me?

There are several major manufacturers of dental implants worldwide and they all have varying options which may be more suitable for use in specific cases, this could be based on size, fit, durability and/or cost.

We use a number of implant systems at "Teeth, Mouth, Smile", however, we will only use those which have an excellent track record and supporting evidence for safety including; Straumann, Ankylos, All On 4, Nobel Biocare, Astra, Osstem, Dentium Mini Implants.

Once it has been decided which dental implant solution best suits you, treatment can commence and your new permanent smile along with enhanced chewing ability is just around the corner.
